Experience:
14 years total, with at least 6 years in a senior position in Finance position preferably in construction company
1. Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
ACCA, CPA, or other relevant financial certifications (preferred)
Certification or proven expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
2. Experience & Industry Knowledge:
Minimum of 14 years of progressive experience in finance, including financial planning, analysis, and risk management
At least 6 years of experience in senior positions preferably in the construction sector, with strong knowledge of construction financial management, cost control, and project financing
Expertise in Ethiopian tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience in implementing and managing IFRS standards in financial reporting and auditing
Hands-on experience in handling large-scale construction project budgets and contracts
3. Key Responsibilities:
Provide financial advice and strategic guidance to the CEO and senior management to support decision-making
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls specific to the construction industry
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and profitability of ongoing and completed projects, ensuring IFRS compliance
Ensure proper budgeting, forecasting, and cost management for construction projects
Assess financial risks and provide recommendations for mitigating financial losses
Monitor compliance with IFRS, Ethiopian tax laws, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with procurement and project managers to ensure financial efficiency in material and service acquisition
Evaluate investment opportunities and advise on financing options for company growth
Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, board members, investors, and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to IFRS
4. Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of IFRS implementation in financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, ERP systems)
Excellent understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and construction-related financial compliance
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Effective communication and leadership abilities
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
