ABYS Trading PLC is the leading Manufacturing of agriculture products for local and export markets. It has been active since 2011 and exports over 40 high quality value added agricultural products which meet world relevant standards to three main destination countries such as America, Canada and Australia and other locations.  Moreover, it distributed such products to local market. Nowadays, in line with government trade, marketing and development strategies, it strives to produce world class products of having high demand. This effort has allowed it to start to generate foreign currency and create job opportunity for 600 Ethiopian youths. Now it is seeking a qualified shift Quality controller. Overall, she/he will controls and follows up quality of raw materials (including packaging materials), on process materials and finished goods that met the required company and international standards

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications through meticulous examination and precise measurement tools including labels and printed packaging material

• QC assigns lot number for incoming raw materials; expiration date and batch number for finished goods, record and maintains all related documents on prepared formats and logbooks to enhance the traceability system.

• Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control

• Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution

• Verify products meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements by staying updated on quality regulations

• Oversee production stages to uphold consistent quality standards and identify areas for improvement in machinery and workflows

• Develop and enforce effective protocols to optimize inspection processes and enhance product quality assurance

• Analyze quality-related customer concerns, identify root causes, and collaborate on solutions to prevent recurrence

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during inspections and production activities to promote a secure workplace for all personnel 

• QC inspects raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods. They look for defects and deviations from quality standards. 

• QC performs tests on products to ensure they meet quality standards

• QC record and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.

• QC oversees audits and lead investigations into major quality deviations.

• QC preview equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance.

• Perform additional tasks as per her/his supervisor’s direction 

Partnership Management:

• Keep smooth communication with external stockholders (customers, regulatory bodies etc.) 

• Exercise effective communication with staff both vertical and horizontal

• Organize stockholders for mutual benefit

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Educational Background: 

• BSC degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field of studies

Experience:

• 1 year and above

• Attention to details, data analysis and record keeping

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making,

• Knowledge on raw material and product standards/specifications

• Good communication skill, and

• Knowhow on GMP, ISO Standards (FSMS ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015)
